Student Council

At Friends School Kamusinga, we believe in nurturing the leadership potential of our students and empowering them to make meaningful contributions to our school community. Through the Student Council and various leadership roles, students are given the opportunity to develop essential skills, exercise responsibility, and champion positive change.

Role of the Student Council:

The Student Council serves as the voice of the student body, advocating for their interests, concerns, and aspirations. Comprising elected representatives from different classes and houses, the council plays a pivotal role in shaping school policies, organizing events, and promoting a vibrant and inclusive school culture.

Prefect Positions and Responsibilities:

Elections and appointments of prefects are conducted towards the end of the Second Term, with senior students or those progressing to senior classes vying for leadership roles. Notable positions include:

Prefects are inducted and inspired to embody the values of integrity, accountability, and service. They serve as role models for their peers, promoting a positive school culture and fostering a sense of unity and belonging.

Bridge Between Administration and Students:

The Student Council acts as a bridge between the administration and the student body, facilitating communication, collaboration, and understanding. Prefects engage in various activities, including monitoring student adherence to school rules, organizing evening and weekend assemblies, and leading initiatives to promote student well-being and academic success.

Leadership Development and Growth:

Through their roles as student leaders, prefects have the opportunity to develop key leadership skills such as communication, decision-making, and teamwork. They are encouraged to set goals, inspire their peers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our school community.
